The nation of Montenegro, situated in the south of Europe passed an online gambling law earlier in 2011 and now, as 2012 approaches, it is moving ahead with the next logical step to offer licenses, financial services and hosting services for online casino and betting operators. These new offerings are set to start from as early as January 2012.

· Spanish investment fund GED Capital invested over €12 million in acquiring a 90% share of the Romanian printing house Infopress.

· Austrian investment fund Immoeast invested €10 million in acquiring a 75% share of the Israeli firm Union Investments, thereby taking full ownership of the Euromall commercial complex in Galati.

· The Timis County Council will invest €2.3 million in a road building project for the north-west section surrounding Buzias city.

New electronic system in EU to monitor excise goods and tackle fraud

A new electronic system came into effect on April 1 to monitor the movement of excise goods, the European Commission website said in a media statement on March 31 2010. All European Union member states are obliged to join the new system progressively, with the final deadline being January 1 2011.
